In this role, you will build and operate control plane and runtime systems. For example, you will develop features and fix bugs in Go. You will also design gRPC and HTTP APIs, reconciliation loops, and lifecycle workflows.
The work covers Kubernetes-backed infrastructure. This includes deployments, networking, autoscaling, and controllers. You will also work on the Functions runtime, covering cold-start and warm-path performance, isolation, and reliability.
Production ownership is part of the job. So, you will join on-call rotations and maintain runbooks. You will also write tests and review code.
Eligibility Criteria
- 2–4 years of experience building and shipping production services.
- Proficiency in Go, or strong skills in another typed systems language with fast ramp-up.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, including Deployments, Services, Controllers/Operators, resource limits, and networking basics.
- Systems thinking across replication, latency, failure modes, and reconciliation.
- Cloud-native exposure to containers, microservices, and MySQL/Postgres.
- Familiarity with gRPC is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-have skills include PaaS, serverless, or multi-tenant control plane experience. In addition, knowledge of service mesh, CNI, autoscaling, or scale-to-zero helps. The team also values event-driven systems experience. Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, and Prometheus is a plus. Prior on-call experience also helps.
